Sika® Poxitar® F

Sika® Poxitar® F is an epoxy-anthracene, oil-combination, heavy duty coating for steel and concrete. Resistant two-component reaction hardening coating of low solvent content based on epoxy-anthracene oil-combination with mineral fillers. Sika® Poxitar® F is used as a protective coat for concrete and steel, buried and submerged structures. It is also suitable where application onto damp concrete is inevitable. In addition, it can be exposed to water immediately after application. But take into consideration that solvents get into the water which leads to temporary contamination. Immediate exposure to water should therefore only be considered in special cases and after consulting the authorities for the protection of the environment. Sika® Poxitar® F is packaged in 35 kilograms pail with a shelf life of up to 2 years in original, sealed, containers in a cool and dry environment.Sika® Poxitar® F is an epoxy-anthracene, oil-combination, heavy duty coating for steel and concrete. Prior to application, all surfaces must be free of cement laitance, dust, loose and friable particles, and other contamination. Afterward, add and stir both component very thoroughly using an electric mixer (start slowly, then increase up to approx. 300 rpm). Mix for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Fill mixed material into a clean container and mix again shortly as described above. During mixing and handling of the materials always wear protective goggles, suitable gloves, and other protective clothing.

The method of application has a major effect on achieving uniform thickness and appearance. Spray application will give the best results. The indicated dry film thickness is easily achieved by airless spray. Adding solvents reduces the sag resistance and dry film thickness. In case of application by roller or brush, additional applications may become necessary to achieve the required coating thickness, depending on the type of construction, site conditions, color shade, etc. Prior to major coating operations, a test application on site may be useful to ensure the selected application method will provide the requested results.

For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.Prior to application, all surfaces must be free of cement laitance, dust, loose and friable particles, and other contamination.
