Prior to application, concrete surfaces should be clean, free from oil, grease, laitance and loosely adhering particles. A few hours prior to leveling work, the substrate must be properly saturated with clean water. Remove standing water prior to starting work.

In the case of priming for better bonding to surface, it is recommended to apply Sika Latex diluted with water 1 : 1 by volume at a consumption rate of 100 – 200 g/m2 using a roller. Afterward, apply the Sika Leveling Mortar onto the still sticky primer immediately after priming the surface.

Sika® Leveling Mortar should be mechanically mixed in a clean container using a heavy duty drill and paddle or a forced action mixer. A normal tilting drum concrete mixer is not suitable. Put water into the clean mixing container and add Sika® Leveling Mortar slowly while mixing, ensuring a minimum mixing time of 3 minutes. The speed of the mixer should not exceed 500 rpm to minimize air entrainment. During mixing, the mortar will initially have a visibly stiff appearance; upon continuous stirring, it will become free-flowing. Hence, do not add more water than the recommended maximum mixing ratio. After mixing, stir lightly with a spatula for a few seconds to release any entrapped air. Then, pour the free flowing mortar immediately onto the prepared concrete floor and distribute with notched trowel or rake depending on thickness to be installed.

Curing as such is not required for indoor use. After application however it is recommended to close windows and doors in order to avoid premature moisture loss, which may cause cracking. If used outdoors, it is recommended that the area is shaded and protected against strong wind and rain. Porous concrete substrate may absorb mixing water from the Sika® Leveling Mortar and lead to spider web like pattern on the cured Sika® Leveling Mortar. In addition, at temperatures of around 25°C and below, setting time and strength development will be slower.

For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.Prior to application, concrete surfaces should be clean, free from oil, grease, laitance and loosely adhering particles.
