Sarnafil® roofing and waterproofing systems contains waterproofing membranes and polyurethane sheet. The waterproofing system features outstanding resistance to weathering, and permanent UV irradiation. It provides excellent weldability and dimensional stability, while also capable of high water vapor permeability.

Sarnafil® roofing and waterproofing systems have a relatively long shelf life if stored correctly and properly. It is advised to store its product in a horizontal position on pallet, protected from direct sunlight, rain and snow.

Prior to application, the substrate surface must be uniform, smooth and free of any sharp protrusions or burrs.  The supporting layer must be compatible with the membrane, clean, dry and free of grease and dust.

The use of Sarnafil® waterproofing membrane is limited to geographical locations with an average monthly ambient temperature in the range of -30°C to +50°C. Installation works must be carried out only by Sika instructed and approved roofing contractors. Special measures may be compulsory for installation below +5°C ambient temperature due to safety requirements in accordance with national regulations.

Overlap seams are welded by electric hot air welding equipment, such as manual hot air welding machines and pressure rollers or automatic hot air welding machines with controlled hot air temperature. Recommended type of equipment: Leister Triac PID (manual welding) and Sarnamatic 661plus (automatic welding). Furthermore, the seams must be mechanically tested with screwdriver to ensure the integrity or completion of the weld.  Any imperfections must be rectified by hot air welding.

For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.
