Sikalastic® 560 is a cold-applied, one-part waterborne and acrylic liquid-applied, waterproofing membrane, with high elasticity and UV resistant capabilities. It is eco-friendly, and easy to apply, featuring crack-bridging capability, and provide water vapour permeability. It can be applied to damp surfaces, mixed with sand/cement to improve adhesion, tensile strength, flexibility, sound dampening and to create falls.
Sikalastic® 560 is packaged in 20 kilograms pail, with a shelf life of up to 12 months from the date of production if stored properly in original, unopened, undamaged, and sealed packaging. It is advised to store it in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.
Sikalastic® 560 is used as a waterproofing solutions in both new construction and refurbishment projects. It can also be used on roofs with many details and complex geometry when accessibility is limited. Furthermore, it may be used as a reflective coating to enhance energy efficiency by reducing cooling costs.
Prior to application, loose or friable material and weak concrete must be completely removed and surface defects such as blowholes and voids must be fully exposed. Cementitious or mineral based substrates must be prepared mechanically using abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying equipment to remove cement laitance and to achieve an open textured surface. Prime the substrate and always use a reinforced system. On Mortar joints, it must be sound and preferably flush pointed. Ensure all slates/tiles are sound and securely fastened, replacing obviously broken or missing sections. Furthermore, ensure that the Bituminous felt is firmly adhered or mechanically fixed to the substrate. Bituminous felt should not contain any badly degraded areas. Bituminous coatings should not have sticky or mobile surfaces, volatile mastic coatings, or old coal tar coatings. On Metal, it must be in sound condition. and abrade exposed surfaces to reveal bright metal. Moreover, Use localised reinforcement over joints and fixings.
For roof coating, Sikalastic®-560 is applied in two or three coats. Prior to the application of a 2nd coat, the indicated waiting time shall be advised beforehand. For roof waterproofing, Sikalastic®-560 is applied in combination with Sikalastic® Fleece 120 or Sika®-120 Reemat.
For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.
This product comply with the requirements acc. ETAG-005 Part 8, fulfils initial solar reflectance requirements acc. Energy Star (0.820) and meet the requirements of external fire performance ENV 1187 BRoof (T1) on noncombustible substrates . It is approved in accordance with AS 4020 and AS 4858 – Approval for Use in Potable Water and Wet Area applications.
