SikaFix® 101

SikaFix® 101 is a solvent-free, nontoxic, non-shrinkage, single component MDI polyurethane based product, which reacts in contact with water to form a flexible closed cell water resistant seal. It is packed into a 20 kilograms drums and has a shelf life of approximately 12 months from the date of production if stored properly in original, unopened and undamaged package. SikaFix® 101 is compatible in conjunction with SikaFix® HH to ensure a lasting seal if required.

SikaFix® 101 is mainly used for permanent sealing of cracks and joints in the concrete underground structure such as basements, galleries, and tunnels. In addition, it can be used for sealing defective concrete such as honeycombed concrete and concrete voids.

For applications, inject Sika®Injection 101 directly into water-bearing cracks and joints. It will form and expand to fill the voids and prevent infiltration when coming in contact with water.

It is advised to use either single action piston pumps, operated at high pressure, or twin pistons pumps, when mixed with water at 1 to 1 ratio produces foams of different densities, for injection application. Drilled holes must be within the appropriate size,  between 15 millimeters to 22 millimeters, along the side of the crack at 45-degree angle and intersect the crack midway through. Then, install injection packers into the holes and tighten it as tight as necessary.

Afterward, inject SikaFix® 101 at 20 bar or over of pressure into or behind fissures, or into voids. If the voids in concrete being injected contain insufficient moisture to activate the grout, inject a small amount of water prior to injecting the grout. Then, pump SikaFix® 101 for approximately 45 seconds before pausing, which allow the material to flow into all the cracks and crevices in the concrete structures. Keep pumping and watch for material flow and water to appear at the surface or the next packer. When movement stops or SikaFix® 101 appears at the next packer, move to the next packer and inject again. When sealing vertical cracks, it is advised to start the injection of the application at the bottom and work upwards.

For safety reasons, use personal protective equipment when handling or using SikaFix® 101. When not in use, store the product in its original container in cool and dry condition, away from heat sources. In the case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice and keep the eye wide open while rinsing. If in contact with skin, it is advised to wash thoroughly with soap and water. In addition, avoid inhaling the product during use and provide adequate ventilation during application. On the other hand, do not release or empty this product and its content into the nearby water source or sewage system.
