Sikasil®-670 Fire

     Sikasil®-670 Fire is a fire-rated, one-component, moisture curing, low modulus elastic joint sealant. It has excellent resistance to weathering and provide good movement capability of up to 35 percent. It is designed for fire-rated movement and connection joints on porous and non-porous substrates. It is packaged as 300 millimetres cartridge, 12 cartridges per box, with a shelf life up to 12 months from the date of production, in undamaged, original and sealed packaging. It is advised to stored Sikasil®-670 Fire properly in cool and dry condition protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.

     All joints must be correctly designed and dimensioned in accordance with the relevant standards, before their construction. The joint width must be designed to suit the joint movement required and the movement capability of the sealant. The basis for calculation of the necessary joint widths are the type of structure and its dimensions, the technical values of the adjacent building materials and the joint sealing material, as well as the specific exposure of the building and the joints.

In preparation for the sealant application, the substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, oil-free and grease-free, dust and loose or friable particles must be removed.

After the necessary substrate preparation, insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary. Insert a foil pack or cartridge into the sealant gun and extrude Sikasil®-670 Fire into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment. Sikasil®-670 Fire sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion.

For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.
