Sikafloor® -Curehard -24 is a one-part, clear liquid based on sodium silicate to cure, harden and seal fresh or hardened concrete. It reacts with calcium hydroxide in the concrete to produce an improved resistance and dust-free finish. Sikafloor® -CureHard -24 is ready to use and easy to apply out of the package. It features improved chemical and abrasion resistance compared to untreated concrete. It may reduce dusting of concrete floors and loss of water of new concrete while setting. It provides good penetration into substrates while being environmentally friendly.
Sikafloor® -Curehard -24 is not advised to apply over area that were previously treated with membrane forming sealers, unless sealers have been completely removed. It will not alter the appearance of the concrete surfaces, so it will not hide serious staining or excessive wear. In addition, it will not effectively work on lightweight, extremely porous or worn concrete.
Sikafloor® -Curehard -24 is packaged in 25 liters pail or 200 liters drum with a shelf life of 24 months. It is recommended to store Sikafloor® -Curehard -24 in original, sealed container, and in dry, frost free condition within the temperature range of +5°C to +32°C. It is advised to discard the product if the product is frozen.
Sikafloor® -Curehard -24 is suitable for both interior and exterior applications and is used specifically on horizontally old or new concrete surfaces, where a hard surface with light to moderate abrasion resistance is required such as warehouses, industrial plants, stores, shopping malls, parking structures, and hangars.
Prior to application, all substrates must be sound, dry and free from oil, grease, curing compounds impregnations, wax, coatings and loose material. Concrete less than 3 days old may contain excess moisture that will inhibit penetration of Sikafloor® -CureHard -24 into the concrete.
Sikafloor® -CureHard -24 is ready to use straight from the bottle. For ground and highly polished method or as a polished surface hardener, add Sikafloor® -CureHard -24 to the grinding process to produce a highly dense and lustre finish. To ensure maximum penetration, scrub material into the surface with a stiff-bristle broom or an industrial floor-scrubbing machine for a minimum of 30 minutes, and until product begins to gel or becomes slippery. Wet material lightly with water spray and rework it into the surface for another 10 to 20 minutes. After this process, rinse the floor and remove any excess material with a squeegee and wet vacuum. On porous rough-textured or broom finished surfaces a second application may be required. The second application can be installed 2 to 4 hours following the first one and is recommended to ensure maximum densification and protection. Floors are available for use and vehicle traffic 4-6 hours after the removal of excess material.
As densifier in grind or polish system, apply Sikafloor® -CureHard -24 by spray or Squeegee to the surface between grinding stage. Optimum result is achieved by two applications–one in the early stages and another at the later stages of the grinding process. Furthermore, spray evenly at a prescribed rate on the concrete substrate for sealing application.
For safety precautions, it is advised to use proper protective equipment when handling and using the product. It should not be disposed into the drainage system or nearby water sources and soil, properly dispose of this product according to local laws and regulations.
