RUGASOL®C

Rugasol C is a liquid retarder use on horizontal construction joints and surfaces for use in cooler conditions or low retardation conditions. It can be used to expose aggregate, which is
one of the most effective methods of preparing concrete construction joints. It eliminates the need for sandblasting and bush hammering, leaving the aggregate unbroken and firmly
embedded. It is also far more effective than green cutting and eliminates the time consuming of hacking method. Furthermore, producing exposed aggregate surface finishes offers the
opportunity for decorative finishes to concrete surfaces particularly around home, office buildings, shopping plazas, commercial buildings, etc. Its shelf life is expected to last up to 12
months if unopened and kept at temperatures between 5°c and 35°c, and protected from direct sunlight and frost.

Rugasol C is ready to use straight from the container, no need to be diluted with other chemicals. It is mainly used on application of horizontal surfaces of freshly laid concrete areas such as floor slabs, paths, driveways, patios, swimming pools, concrete construction joints, etc.
It is sprayed on concrete to delay the normal hydration and making the joining easily for concrete. The action of Rugasol C is the retardation of the setting process of the cement on the top surface of the concrete to a depth of between 2 to 5 millimeter. The retarding compound in Rugasol C combines with cement at the surface and delays the normal hydration on the surface of the concrete (high cement contents and temperatures will reduce the retardation).
After retardation has finished, the concrete cures to its full strength. The retardation period is up to 24 hours in war weather and up to 36 hours in cooler conditions. It is therefore very important that the Rugasol C treated surface is washed off within the retardation period.
For safety reasons, move out of the immediate area and into fresh air if inhaled. In case of accidental skin contact, take off the contaminated clothing and shoes immediately and wash
yourself off with soap and plenty of water. In the case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, it is advised to clean your mouth with water and drink plenty of water afterwards.
For ecological reasons, do not empty the product and its content into nearby water source or sewage system. It is advised to keep the product and its content in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
