Sika Ceram®-188 MY is a high performance, cementitious tile adhesive, ready-to-use with an addition of water, for bonding various type of tiles of every type of floors and walls. It has a shelf life of around 6 months from the date of production, in original, unopened and undamaged package in dry condition.
SikaCeram®-188MY is suitable for bonding various type of tiles and substrates such as ceramic, porcelain, homogeneous tiles, large size tiles, tiled walls and floors, concrete and bricks. Because of its excellent adhesion, it can be used for bonding tiles where traditional tile adhesives are not suitable due to the type of tile, the substrate or the specific job situation and location. The application of the product may depend on the level, profile and surface roughness of the substrate, the size of the tiles and technique of placing. It is advised to carry out trials to determine the proper amount of SikaCeram®-188MY coverage.
During application, ensure all surfaces are sound, dry and free from excessive movement, oil, dust, grease, wax, curing compounds, release agents and any other loose or contaminating materials. All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product, preferably by brush and/or vacuum. Mix SikaCeram®-188MY with clean water for a minimum of 3 minutes. It is advised to use mechanical means such as a drill or forced action mixer for mixing SikaCeram®-188MY.
For safety reasons, use personal protective equipment when handling or using Sika Ceram®-188MY. When not in use, store the product in original container or package and reseal it carefully. In the case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice and keep the eye wide open while rinsing. If swallowed, it is advised to clean your mouth with water and drink plenty of water afterward. On the other hand, do not release or empty this product and its content into nearby water source or sewage system.
